Light Flow is creating a path for light to be guided into an area. An area in your home, your office, your studio or even your garage. There are different applications we can use to make light flow to where we want it. New ones emerging as we speak, which get me excited about the possibilities of where and how I can use them to light up new and previously unreachable areas.
Traditional skylight are improving greatly. With new frame designs and new glass choices that truly give you the choice to customize for each project. To meet or exceed the specifications needed to complete the project of find the solution to an existing installation.
Tubular Skylights have been a great way to guide light into spaces that were always dark. They can be maneuvered and channeled into places traditional skylights couldn't reach or needed severe modification to achieve a similar output. Their designs are improving and their performance are above expectations almost always after I have installed one. I can always step back and say wow that is better than I thought. They transform rooms once dark into a comfortable light space. The second best part is they are a fraction of the amount it costs for a traditional skylight with the same if not more light output. Win win!
New technology is finding its way to market as well. I have seen some promising light flow from fiber optics projects. Letting the light flow channeled through the fiber optic cables into spaces where gardens can grow under ground. The possibilities would be many when the right systems are created to use the light we have. I'm excited to see where it leads in the future.
In the meantime, I will continue to create projects with light that allow people to turn off the electric lights and enjoy the natural sunlight flowing into their spaces.
